A man is dead following an accident at the Port Authority of Guam midday today.

First responders with the Guam Fire Department were called to the scene at 11:53 this morning to a report of an injured person.

The man, we are told, worked for an unnamed private company when the accident occurred.

That company worked alongside port officials and GFD to get to the top of the gantry crane where the man's body was recovered.

Details of the accident, however, remain under investigation. His name has not been released until family members are first notified.

Officials on site told KUAM News that the Coast Guard is leading the investigation, as they have jurisdiction over the incident.

OSHA also has also been notified.

We will bring you more on this developing story as we learn more.
