The Guam Police Department arrested two individuals following an alleged carjacking and pursuit that stretched from Barrigada to Chalan Pago. According to GPD, officers arrested 26-year-old David Jesus Quichocho of Talo’fo’fo and 32-year-old Juanette Nicole Pangelinan of Dededo on February 13.
Preliminary information states that around 3:50pm on February 12, a man fueling his sedan at a Shell gas station in Barrigada was approached and asked for a ride to Mangilao. Police say the suspect later told the victim to head toward Dededo and instructed him to switch seats, eventually taking over as the driver and picking up a second individual.
Authorities say Dededo Precinct Command units received reports that the victim was being held hostage. A pursuit followed as officers attempted to intercept the vehicle.
Police allege the suspect accelerated, struck a marked patrol unit, and fled onto Route 10 after traveling along Route 15. The vehicle later collided with a power pole and a truck near the intersection of Route 10 and Route 4 in Chalan Pago.
Both individuals were apprehended. Quichocho faces multiple charges, including carjacking, kidnapping, aggravated assault, child abuse, terrorizing, reckless driving with injuries, eluding a police officer, and assault on a peace officer, among others. Pangelinan was charged with criminal facilitation and execution of warrants.
Both were booked and confined at the Department of Corrections.
