GRMC has named Emergency Department Technician Bllyas Otiwii as its Employee of the Year for 2025. 

Otiwii has served the hospital for more than ten years and has been a constant presence in the emergency department since GRMC’s early years.

Known for his calm demeanor under pressure, strong clinical awareness, and willingness to support both patients and colleagues, Otiwii is described as a steady and dependable force in one of the hospital’s most demanding environments.

His recognition has brought a sense of pride to fellow staff, many of whom have worked alongside him through the hospital’s growth and evolution. Reflecting on his journey, Otiwii said his faith has guided his path and continues to inspire his work and opportunities at GRMC.

While working full-time in the emergency department, Otiwii is also pursuing his education in nursing, balancing his studies with his professional responsibilities.
