Emergency responders were dispatched after a 911 call reported a distressed fisherman at Pago Bay Beach at 8:16 p.m. Sunday. Units arrived on scene at 8:28 p.m. and immediately began search efforts. 

According to acting GFD spokesperson Cherika Mateo, an adult male in his 30s was located by Guam Fire Department rescue units at 8:51 p.m. CPR was initiated and the patient was transported to Naval Hospital.

At 9:18 p.m., due to the condition of the patient, paramedics terminated resuscitation efforts in accordance with GFD and Guam Memorial Hospital medical protocol. The individual was transported to Guam Memorial Hospital.
