GEB holds regular meeting, tackles full agenda

The Guam Education Board is scheduled to meet this evening. The regular session follows a series of consequential meetings held earlier this month—including discussions centered on finance and budget.
On tonight’s agenda: a review of the Guam Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2024 audit, along with management and curriculum audits.
As KUAM previously covered, those reports flag several deficiencies in need of correction and highlight findings of a persistent low-trust environment and “fractured” relationships between the Guam Education Board, GDOE leadership, and staff.
Also up for discussion—the duties and election of board officers, board policy dissemination, and proposed legislation.
The GEB is also expected to elect a new chair and vice chair.
