Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lieutenant Governor Joshua Tenorio extend their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Emilio Uy, who passed away Friday morning. 

The governor and lt. governor honor his lifelong dedication to service, faith, and community on Guam.

Uy was widely respected as a champion for Guam’s Filipino-American community, known for his business leadership, civic engagement, and generosity. 

His work supported numerous organizations focused on service and human dignity, including the Ayuda Foundation, Lions Club International, and the Red Cross.

In recognition of his faith-driven leadership, Uy received the Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice, one of the highest honors awarded by the Roman Catholic Church to laypersons. He was also a recipient of the 1996 Presidential Award for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas. 

The governor and lieutenant governor join the community in honoring a legacy that strengthened Guam through compassion, unity, and service.
