Two complete their registered apprenticeship programs

The Guam Department of Labor, in partnership with the Guam Contractors Association, recognized two individuals for completing their registered apprenticeship programs during a GCA monthly membership meeting held at the Westin Resort Guam.
Honored graduates include Evan M. Martinez, who completed the Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic Apprenticeship, and Jeffrey Theodore A. Tomeldan, who completed the HVAC Apprenticeship. Martinez, an employee of Hawaiian Rock Products, said the program helped advance both his professional skills and personal growth. Tomeldan, who works for JWS Guam, shared that he entered the program without prior HVAC experience and is now a fully qualified technician after completing the two-year apprenticeship. GDOL director David Dell’isola said the graduates reflect the success of the Registered Apprenticeship Program in developing local talent while strengthening Guam’s workforce. He emphasized that apprentices earn wages, gain hands-on experience, and graduate with credentials that lead to long-term careers in skilled trades. More information about registered apprenticeship programs is available through the Guam Department of Labor at (671) 475-7000/1 or at http://dol.guam.gov.
