Man steals air compressor nozzle from gas station

A man accused of stealing $3.95 worth of candy from a Circle K gas station is also accused of cutting-off and taking an air compressor nozzle, causing about $100 in damage, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in superior court.
Police say 41-year-old Leroy James Reyes, admitted to taking the candy and the nozzle because he needed it for an air pump at his home. Officers later recovered the nozzle from his residence so it could be returned to the gas station.
Reyes was charged with criminal mischief, theft of property, and retail theft, all misdemeanors. Court documents state he also admitted to taking other items from the store on prior occasions.
Reyes, who has prior convictions for motor vehicle theft and criminal mischief, was ordered held on $500 cash bail.
