2026 tax filing season opens on January 26

The Department of Revenue and Taxation announces the start of Guam’s 2026 tax filing season beginning Jan. 26, 2026, and ending April 15, 2026.
During this time, taxpayers should file their 2025 tax returns.
DRT and the Department of Administration collaborate to process and disperse individual tax refunds. By law, they have up to six months from the date of filing to pay them out.
Last year, $102 million in refunds were dispersed between January and March, and another $33 million was dispersed between April and June for the 2024 tax season. Taxpayers should allow six to eight weeks from their file date before calling or emailing DRT to check on the status of their refund.
Those who elect to receive their refunds via direct deposit are encouraged to double-check their bank account information to avoid refund processing delays.
Starting Jan. 26, 2026, limited tax preparation services are available for manåmko’, individuals with disabilities, and veterans. Services are on a first-come, first-served basis Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
It is only available for manåmko’, individuals with disabilities, and veterans filing returns with W-2GU, 1099R, SSA-1099, and 1099-INT.
