GRMC earns fourth Gold Seal, CMS recertification

The Guam Regional Medical City is once again being recognized for meeting some of the highest standards in healthcare.
GRMC has earned its fourth Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Hospital Accreditation and has also received recertification from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
The re-accreditation followed a comprehensive, hospital-wide survey conducted in October, evaluating patient safety, quality of care, leadership, emergency preparedness, and overall performance.
Because GRMC holds “Deemed Status,” the Joint Commission review also determines CMS certification—confirming the hospital continues to meet federal requirements to care for Medicare and Medicaid patients.
GRMC leadership says the recognition reflects the dedication and professionalism of its staff, noting surveyors praised the team’s commitment across patient care, facilities, and emergency management.
For patients and families on Guam, the hospital says the achievement reinforces confidence that care provided locally meets the same standards as leading hospitals across the United States—while keeping that care close to home.
