A shear line lingering over Saipan, Tinian, and Rota is bringing patchy showers, cloud cover, and gusty winds for a second day. Wind gusts are reaching up to 30mph, with spotty showers also affecting Guam and Rota.

The shear line is expected to weaken, with drier conditions developing by wednesday for the CNMI. For the rest of the week, expect improving weather with only spotty showers and moderate to fresh trade winds between 15 and 20 mph.

Seas and surf remain elevated due to stronger winds, with combined seas gradually subsiding to around 5 to 7 feet through the latter half of the week, before increasing again this weekend. Hazardous surf along north and east facing reefs, currently near 9 feet, is expected to ease overnight to around 8 feet.

Stay weather-aware, especially along coastal areas.
