GMHA advances facility improvements
The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority is reporting steady progress on multiple facility improvement projects aimed at maintaining a safe and functional environment for patients and staff.
Hospital officials say work is underway on roof and exterior repairs in key areas, including the intensive care unit, pediatrics, and the medical telemetry unit, with additional exterior work planned near the emergency department.
Inside the hospital, environmental services has completed floor stripping and waxing in operating rooms and several intensive care unit rooms, with more patient care areas scheduled in the coming weeks.
Construction is also moving forward on the hospital’s parking expansion project, while installation of new chiller components continues to strengthen critical cooling systems.
Guam Memorial Hospital Authority officials say the improvements support patient safety, staff efficiency, and long-term sustainability as plans for a new hospital continue.
