The Port Authority of Guam closed out the year with another major passenger vessel arrival this morning, welcoming the Japan-flagged Mitsui Ocean Fuji as it berthed just before 7:40am.

The 649-foot cruise ship arrived from Saipan carrying more than 750 passengers and crew combined, marking the island’s fifth passenger vessel call of 2025—and the second arrival in just three days.

Port general manager Rory Respicio said the visit highlights Guam’s growing role in regional tourism, noting that each vessel arrival strengthens the local economy and reflects the port’s commitment to safe, efficient, and professional operations.

Respicio also credited port employees for their extensive preparations, including securing designated areas of the container yard to safely accommodate passenger operations.

The vessel will remain overnight and is scheduled to depart Guam at around 4pm on New Year’s Day, continuing on to Japan.

Passengers were greeted with a cultural welcome coordinated by the Guam Visitors Bureau, offering a warm island send-off as Guam rings in the New Year.
