The Leon Guerrero Administration joined the Guam Housing Corporation, the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority, and community partners Monday to break ground on Phase II of the Lada Gardens renovation—continuing long-term investment in affordable housing for Guam’s families.

Lada Gardens is a 115-unit community built in the 1960s. After 23 units were renovated in 2022, Phase II will upgrade an additional 16 low-income rental units, including two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes—expanding capacity and improving living conditions.

The project is led by the GHC in partnership with GHURA, with Genesis Tech as the contractor. the administration provided $1.5 million in American Rescue Plan funding to support the work.

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero said investing in housing is investing in Guam’s people, while Lieutenant Governor Josh Tenorio emphasized the strong demand for affordable housing and the site’s proximity to schools, public health services, and a hospital.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be scheduled once construction is complete.
