An oversight hearing on Agent Orange contamination here is set for Oct. 31
Acting Speaker Therese Terlaje wants an update from Guam Environmental Protection Agency on its testing for the toxin in areas outside the military bases.
This follows the death of Air Force Master Sgt. Leroy Foster, who said he became seriously ill, and got cancer from AO exposure.
Foster said he sprayed thousands of gallons of the harmful defoliant while stationed at Andersen Air Force base in the late 70's and 80's.
For years he pushed for government help for all who may have been harmed by AO. Foster's claims finally led to a federal investigation that is supposed to be completed by the end of the year.
The military has denied any contamination.
