Guam - Acting Governor Ray Tenorio has responded to comments made by Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Gary Gumataotao the day after the general election. Gumataotao in a phone interview with KUAM News said he did not believe the results of the gubernatorial election were correct, adding he was suspicious by the large margin in democratic strongholds.
He even suggested there may be a case where machines have been tampered.
Tenorio said today, "If Gary Gumataotao thinks the people's voice was not loud enough, then he can file an appeal. We have confidence the people made the right decision in 2010, and we think they made the right decision again in 2014. And if the technology or the equipment or if Gary believes there's any problem with them, or if he doesn't trust in the people's sentiment, then he can take that through the process available to them. We're just going to move on."
Gumataotao was speaking in his personal opinion not for the Gutierrez-Gumataotao campaign. The Governor's Office tells KUAM News that neither Carl Gutierrez nor Gumataotao has called to concede. The unofficial results show that Calvo-Tenorio won the gubernatorial race with over 63% of the vote or by close to 10,000 votes.
