A 29-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly trying to bring drugs into the department of corrections—hidden inside a cookie bag. According to a magistrate’s complaint, Jesse Bautista was detained at the DOC Visitors Center in Mangilao after officers discovered suspected methamphetamine and marijuana during intake screening.

Investigators say the drugs were concealed inside a resealable cookie bag that had already been opened. Inside, officers found heat-sealed packets containing a white crystalline substance and green leafy material. A field test later confirmed a presumptive positive for meth, weighing just over 19 grams.

Bautista told police he was delivering items for his uncle, an inmate, and claimed he didn’t know what was inside the bag.

He now faces charges including complicity to deliver a schedule II controlled substance and promoting major prison contraband.
