The University of Guam has announced three presenters for this year’s Seed Talks at the 2026 Conference on Island Sustainability, highlighting emerging community leaders under the theme, “Illuminating the Path to Prosperity.”

The annual conference, set for April 20th through the 24th at the Hyatt Regency Guam, brings together researchers, policymakers, and community advocates from across the Pacific to address climate resilience, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development challenges unique to island communities.

This year’s conference will also place added focus on island resilience as Guam and the CNMI continue recovering from Supertyphoon Sinlaku.

The 2026 Seed Talk presenters include environmental advocate Kallen Perez, cultural and environmental storyteller Leilani Sablan Naden, and mixed martial arts fighter and entrepreneur Frank “The Crank” Camacho.

Organizers say the diverse lineup reflects a range of perspectives, from youth-led sustainability efforts and conservation storytelling to culturally based entrepreneurship.

Now in its 17th year, the Conference on Island Sustainability continues to serve as a regional hub for collaboration, with organizers inviting the community to attend the free opening day on April 22nd, featuring Seed Talks, panel discussions, and Community Night supporting Sinlaku relief efforts.
