GCC announces open registration for final YouthBuild program

The Guam Community College is accepting applications for the third and final cohort of its YouthBuild Construction Navigators Program, which provides young adults the opportunity to earn their GED while gaining hands-on construction training.

The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and is designed to help participants build skills, complete their education, and secure employment in the construction industry. YouthBuild is open to young adults ages 18 to 24 who did not complete high school. Participants in the 32-week program work toward earning their high school equivalency diploma while also training for a national credential from the National Center for Construction Education and Research.

The goal of the program is to help graduates enter the workforce with both academic qualifications and practical trade skills to support student success, the program provides a full scholarship covering tuition, books, and supplies. Participants also receive tool kits, safety equipment, transportation assistance, and access to a stipend while in training.

Throughout the program, students receive guidance from mentors, case managers, and professional trainers who assist them in completing the program and transitioning into employment.the application deadline for the final cohort is Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 5pm at the YouthBuild office on the 2nd floor of the Foundation Building at the GCC Campus in Mangilao.
