Jenna Manibusan found not guilty in Thai Thai Restaurant shooting case
A Superior Court of Guam jury has found Jenna Manibusan not guilty of all charges tied to the fatal 2024 shooting and robbery outside Thai Thai Restaurant in Tamuning on Valentine’s Day.
Manibusan had been charged with complicity to commit aggravated murder, complicity to commit first-degree robbery, and complicity to commit theft of a motor vehicle. If convicted, she faced a possible life sentence.
Prosecutors alleged Manibusan was part of a conspiracy to rob the restaurant alongside her then-boyfriend Domingo Mendiola and Johny Atalig. Authorities argued she was involved in the planning after surveillance and witness testimony placed her with the two men earlier that day, including buying food and gas and allegedly driving them to another residence they intended to rob.
During the trial, Manibusan’s defense attorney, Peter Santos of the Alternate Public Defender’s Office, called her to testify. She told jurors she had no knowledge of any plan to commit a robbery or shooting. The defense also argued she became a suspect after Atalig — who was found to have lied to investigators multiple times — accused her of being involved.
After about a day and a half of deliberations, the jury returned a verdict monday morning finding manibusan not guilty on all counts.
