Guam’s Musical Theatre National Team brings home record wins at 2026 National Music Festival

The Musical Theatre Competitions of America National Guam Team proudly represented the island at the 2026 MTCA Music Festival and National Competitions held Feb. 5 to Feb. 8, 2026 in Anaheim, California, returning home with its most successful medal count since the program began competing in 2023.

The traveling National Guam Team consisted of 14 talented students from schools across Guam:

  1. Gracie Serrano (12th Grade, Simon Sanchez High School)

  2. Mina Bunten (11th Grade, John F. Kennedy High School)

  3. Jeremy Huh (11th Grade, John F. Kennedy High School)

  4. Tess Santos (8th Grade, St. John’s School)

  5. Ha’ani Lee (8th Grade, Harvest Christian Academy)

  6. Rhenae Cabuag (6th Grade, St. Bridget Catholic School)

  7. Norah Santos (6th Grade, St. John’s School)

  8. Charice Camba (11th Grade, John F. Kennedy High School)

  9. Jiselle Ann Bravo (10th Grade, John F. Kennedy High School)

  10. Edward Calvo (8th Grade, Harvest Christian Academy)

  11. Mikaela Harrington (10th Grade, Academy of Our Lady of Guam)

  12. Janae Blas (9th Grade, Notre Dame High School)

  13. Christopher Tamayo (11th Grade, Father Dueñas Memorial School)

  14. Aliyah Lajato (10th Grade, Academy of Our Lady of Guam)

Competing against performers from across the United States, Guam’s delegation earned top placements in multiple categories:

2nd Place – Duet Senior: Gracie Serrano & Charice Camba

2nd Place – Duet Junior: Jeremy Huh & Mina Bunten

3rd Place – Duet Middle School: Tess Santos & Norah Santos

3rd Place – Duet Sophomore: Mikaela Harrington & Janae Blas

In addition to competitive placements, Janae Blas (9th Grade, Notre Dame High School) was auditioned and selected to perform in the prestigious Broadway Finale Performance, a special showcase featuring standout performers from the national competition.

The 2026 competition marks a milestone year for Guam’s MTCA program, as the team brought home the highest number of trophies and category wins in its history. Their success reflects not only their dedication and talent, but also the growing strength of Guam’s performing arts community.

The National Guam Team’s achievements continue to place Guam on the national stage, demonstrating the island’s commitment to excellence in musical theatre and the arts.
