Guam - The island recorded the 17th traffic-related fatality of the year early this morning. A 59-year-old Dededo man was struck by a car on Monday evening on Route 16 in Harmon. The unidentified victim appeared to have non-life threatening injuries when he was transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital.
The man died just after two o'clock this morning. Police say the 61-year-old woman, who was driving a Toyota Corolla that struck the man, left the scene and later reported the crash to officers at the Dededo Precinct.
Highway Patrol officers are now investigating.
