The woman died at the Guam Memorial Hospital on Feb. 21, after testing positive on Feb. 18. According to a report from the Joint Information Center, she was fully vaccinated with one booter and had underlying health conditions.
“Jeff, Josh, and I will keep her family and friends in our thoughts and prayers during their time of grieving,” said Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero. “This road has been long and arduous but we continue to learn how to live with this virus by practicing our COVID-19 safety measures."
The JIC also reported 35 new cases of the virus from specimens tested over the last week. There were just two people admitted to the hospital for the virus.
To date, there have been a total of 60,982 officially reported cases, 420 deaths, 22 cases in active isolation, and 60,540 not in active isolation.
