Amphibious Aquatics Guam announced that one of its standout athletes, Mia Lee, has earned a historic and coveted spot on the U.S. Amateur Athletic Union National Team and has been officially invited to represent the United States and AAU Swimming at the Arena Lisbon International Meeting 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal.

Lee’s selection is a monumental achievement for the young athlete, securing her a spot among the nation’s elite following an outstanding performance at the recent selection events.

As the champion in her events, her inclusion on the National Team is a source of immense pride for the entire Amphibious Aquatics family and the island of Guam.

"This is an incredible, well-deserved honor for Mia, and a milestone for our team and our island," said Jolenna Gandaoli, President of Amphibious Aquatics. "We extend our sincerest congratulations to Mia and her family on this historic achievement. It takes more than just individual talent to reach this level; it takes the dedication of family, the commitment of our exceptional coaching staff, and the unwavering support of our community and sponsors. Mia’s journey is a testament to what can be achieved through hard work and passion, and we are excited to cheer her on as she represents the United States on the international stage."

In August 2025, Lee, a recent graduate from St. John’s School Guam, competed at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, Texas.

Lee earned gold in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, and 100m butterfly, along with silver medals in the 200m individual medley and the 100m backstroke events.

Her 50m Freestyle performance of 27.45 set an AAU Junior Olympics record.

The Arena Lisbon International Meeting 2026 will bring together top swimmers from around the world, and Lee’s selection and participation mark a significant highlight in the history of the Amphibious Aquatics program.
