The Guam Museum, in partnership with the Guam Girl Scouts, is cherishing a 90 years of girl scouting on Guam, an organization that was founded in 1935 and has played a valuable role in the island’s history.  Beyond cookie sales, the Guam Girl Scouts have assisted on shaping generations of civic and political leaders, while also witnessing major historical events such as typhoons, political change, and even war.

In recognition of this milestone, the Guam Museum will present a special exhibit in 2026 highlighting the history and impact of the Guam Girl Scouts. To help bring this exhibit to life, the museum is calling on the community to contribute or loan Girl Scout memorabilia. The items requested include uniforms and other girl scout products, photographs, newspaper and magazine clippings, letters, and oral histories or interviews. Community members interested in sharing stories or donating items are encouraged to contact Dr. Michael Bevacqua, curator of the Guam Museum, by phone at 671-989-4455.

Please note that due to space limitations, not all submitted items may be displayed. The deadline for submissions is March 6 and the Guam Museum hopes this exhibit will preserve and celebrate the lasting legacy of the Guam Girl Scouts for future generations.
