Drug paraphernalia tossed during traffic stop
A man is facing felony drug charges after police say he threw drug paraphernalia out of a vehicle just before a traffic stop.
According to a magistrate’s complaint, Ronnie Quinata Sanchez is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance as a third-degree felony.
Around 9am on January 1, officers observed a red kia soul make an unusual u-turn near the exit of Guam Regional Medical City and Route 3. The vehicle also did not have a rear license plate.
As officers initiated a traffic stop, they allegedly saw an object thrown from the passenger side of the vehicle. A search of the area led to the recovery of a hard cylinder containing a makeshift pipe, two plastic baggies with a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine, and a straw.
Court documents state Sanchez admitted to throwing the items from the vehicle. The substances were field tested and returned presumptive positive results for methamphetamine.
