DUI sobriety checkpoint planned Friday night
Drivers are advised to plan ahead as the Guam Police Department conducts a DUI sobriety checkpoint tonight. The Guam Highway Patrol Division will begin the checkpoint at 8pm, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety during the holiday season.
The checkpoint will be set up along Route 1, covering areas including Yigo, Dededo, Tamuning, Asan, Piti, and Hagatna.
Alternate locations may include Route 14 in Tamuning and Tumon, Route 4 from Hagåtña to Chalan Pago, Route 8 along Purple Heart Highway, Route 10 on Veteran’s Highway through Barrigada and Mangilao, and Route 16 along Army Drive.
Police remind motorists to buckle up, obey speed limits, stay alert, and never drink and drive.
