Public Utilities Commission approves Guam Power Authority base rate adjustment effective January 2026
The Public Utilities Commission has approved a base rate adjustment for the Guam Power Authority, along with a reduction to the levelized energy adjustment clause, both taking effect Jan. 1, 2026.
The PUC says the base rate adjustment supports long-term investments in modern generation, system reliability, and financial stability, while fuel-related charges continue to decline.
For average residential customers using 1,000 kilowatt-hours per month, the combined changes result in a nominal increase of about eight dollars beginning next year.
Officials note customers have already seen significant savings in 2025 due to earlier LEAC reductions, with typical households saving about one thousand dollars to date.
The PUC also approved rate adjustments for commercial and government customers and will continue oversight to ensure accountability and transparency.
