Sentencing delayed in home invasion case
Sentencing has been delayed for a man facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including home invasion, assault, burglary, and drug possession. Matthew Siguenza Salas appeared Monday in superior court, where a judge scheduled a January hearing to coordinate time credit for a separate pending case that is also expected to resolve without trial.under a plea agreement, Salas is facing a five-year prison term, with all but one year suspended.
The court agreed to track both cases together, allowing Salas to begin serving time while receiving proper credit and potentially avoiding a surrender before the end of the year. Salas is ordered to continue checking in as directed, with the court to decide in January whether he will self-surrender or be taken into custody the same day.
