Down at the Guam Congress Hall this morning a confirmation hearing was held for the newest nominee to sit on the board of trustees for the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority. Matt Limtiaco, chief technology officer for the Bank of Guam, was appointed by the governor to use his vast expertise in information technology, cybersecurity, user privacy and data governance at Guam's only public hospital.

Senators asked the Barrigada native questions about integration, policy, identity management, and making cost-conscious decisions. He responded, "The thing with cybersecurity is – the criminals only need to be right once. The cyber guys only need to be right once. The hospital has to be right all the time. And implementing those controls is what make that right – all the time."

The committee indicated it would move Limtiaco's nomination to the agenda, with a vote on his possible appointment to be determined.
