A major milestone for Guam’s healthcare community — Guam Regional Medical City is celebrating intensive care unit nurse manager Kristine Stanley - the first and only nurse manager on island to earn the National Certified Nurse Manager and Leader credential from the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.

Stanley, who began her career at GRMC in 2016 as a new graduate, has risen through the ranks — from the emergency department… to charge nurse… to ICU nurse manager.

She’s led through some of GRMC's most critical moments — including CMS and Joint Commission surveys — and played a key role in launching the hospital’s first-ever continuous renal replacement therapy program, bringing life-saving care to Guam’s civilian patients for the first time.

Her leadership also guided the emergency department through a high-stakes CMS resurvey this year, achieving full compliance while she simultaneously completed her CNML certification.

GRMC leadership praises Stanley as an inspiring, compassionate, and strategic nurse leader — one who continues to elevate the standard of care for Guam and Micronesia.

Stanley says she never imagined this path when she first started nursing, but is grateful for the mentors and opportunities that shaped her journey.
