A two-car crash along Route 1 by Fisheye in Piti late Tuesday morning resulted in serious injuries and major traffic delays.

Around 11:55 a.m., Guam Fire Department units extricated a male in his early to mid-30s. According to GFD officials, he was found pulseless and breathless, and CPR was immediately initiated. Paramedics were actively providing care on scene at the time information was released.

At 12:39 p.m., due to the extent of injuries sustained, paramedics terminated resuscitation efforts on the male individual in accordance with GFD/GMH medical protocol.

Five additional patients were assessed at the scene and transported, and officials say one more patient was later taken to GMH. In total, GFD reports six patients sustained minor injuries.

Both northbound and southbound lanes remain closed. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes, as significant traffic delays are expected.
