A man who told the court he began dealing methamphetamine “To impress a girl” will spend nearly five years in federal prison.  48-year-old Horace R. Westfall was sentenced to 57 months, or about four years and nine months, by Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine hydrochloride.

Westfall was also ordered to forfeit a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver and more than $23,000 in cash to the federal government. He’ll serve three years of supervised release after his prison term.

During sentencing, Westfall apologized, saying he was sorry for everything—telling the judge he started dealing drugs “To impress a girl.”

Tydingco-Gatewood recommended Westfall for drug treatment and vocational programs while in custody.

Westfall was arrested in Malesso in June 2024, when officers found meth, marijuana, cash, and the revolver in a stolen Jeep he was sleeping in.
