Guam flights remain uninterrupted , United reassures travelers

United Airlines says flights to and from Guam are not impacted by the ongoing federal government shutdown. United Corporate Communications confirmed that while the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Transportation have directed airlines to reduce schedules at 40 domestic airports, long-haul international routes — including Guam — will continue operating as usual.
United CEO Scott Kirby said the FAA’s goal is to relieve pressure on the aviation system and ensure safety remains the top priority. He added that United is not canceling long-haul international flights, including Guam, and will continue to provide customers several days’ notice about any changes to their flights.
A few important things to note — United is encouraging customers to check the United app to confirm their flights, and the airline is offering flexible options for rebooking or cancellation — including for non-refundable and basic economy tickets.
United Corporate Communications adds that even with reduced domestic schedules, United and its partners will still operate about 4,000 flights per day.
