Guam Memorial Hospital receives new chillers to combat mold and improve facility infrastructure

The Guam Memorial Hospital Authority is taking a major step to improve its facility and air quality with the arrival of two new 450-ton chillers.
Installation is set to begin in November and is expected to help reduce mold issues that have long affected the hospital’s environment.
GMH is also expecting an additional 265-ton chiller and three air-cooled condensing units by year’s end as part of a broader capital improvement plan.
Interim Administrator and CEO Dr. Joleen Aguon said the new equipment represents a significant step toward creating a safer and more comfortable environment for patients and staff.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio both praised the efforts, saying the upgrades are part of a long-term strategy to strengthen Guam's healthcare system while work continues toward a new hospital.
