Mother charged with drunk driving with kids in car

A 31-year-old woman accused of driving drunk with three children in her vehicle could face up to 17 years behind bars if convicted on all counts. According to a magistrate’s complaint, Chamoree Borja was charged with three counts of driving while impaired with a child on board — each a third-degree felony — along with misdemeanor counts of driving while impaired and open container.
Court documents say police responded after a witness reported a car swerving on the road Tuesday afternoon. Officers later found Borja’s vehicle parked in front of a home, with two open beer cans inside. Borja reportedly admitted to drinking before picking up the children and refused to take a field sobriety test.
She was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
