Search and rescue teams are combing the coastline and waters of Pago Bay today in the search for 34-year-old fisherman Kevin Nauta, who was reported missing early this morning.

Authorities say Nauta was last seen wearing black shorts and a blue shirt. Guam Fire Department units launched the search shortly after receiving the call at 4:29am from Nauta’s family.

The Coast Guard, Navy, and Guam Police Department have joined the coordinated operation, with GFD deploying boats, divers, and a drone to search from the shoreline to the channel mouth. A Coast Guard response boat is covering deeper waters, while a Navy HSC-25 helicopter crew provides aerial support.

As of this afternoon, GFD personnel have conducted dive operations, and GPD officers continue checking areas Nauta is known to frequent.

Officials are asking anyone with information that could help locate Nauta to contact the Joint Rescue Sub-Center at 671-355-4826.
