The Department of Public Works has issued additional conditions to its Notice of Violation against the developers of The Palisades Subdivision following the cliff collapse that shut down Route 1 earlier this month.

DPW cites inadequate stormwater and erosion control at the construction site, saying excessive water and saturated soil triggered the landslide that sent debris across all six lanes.

The department is now requiring immediate regrading, drainage re-evaluation, and detailed hydrologic and geotechnical studies to prevent further erosion and protect public safety.

In response, Tasi Vista Development says it has been working closely with GEPA and other agencies on a supplemental mitigation plan — already approved and now being implemented. Completion is expected by the end of the week, with GEPA to inspect the site for compliance
