Traffic slowed as crews cleared Marine Corps Drive debris at East Agana

Heavy rainfall from a passing tropical disturbance left behind debris along Route 1 near vince jewelers in east hagåtña early wednesday morning — slowing traffic in both directions.
Two southbound lanes and one northbound lane reopened later in the day, as crews from the department of public works continued clearing the area . Chief of Police Stephen Ignacio provided an update, saying, "The work to clear the debris continues. It is my understanding that DPW plans to barricade-off and cordoned-off two of the outermost and middle lanes closest to the where the landslide occurred. That being said, GPD will have continued presence throughout the day and into the night, until dpw is done doing whatever mitigation is needed."
The unsettled weather pattern from Invest 96W continues to bring periods of heavy showers and thunderstorms, with localized flash flooding possible — especially across central and southern Guam.
