GMHA to end contract with TakeCare Insurance

Starting November 1, the Guam Memorial Hospital Authority will no longer be part of TakeCare’s provider network. Patients with TakeCare insurance will be considered self-pay when receiving care at GMHA and will need to seek reimbursement directly from TakeCare.
GMHA says the decision follows repeated issues with TakeCare’s failure to meet contractual obligations, including timely processing of claims and payments.
Dr. Joleen M. Aguon, Interim CEO, encourages TakeCare members to contact their insurer to understand their options, assuring that GMHA “will continue to welcome all patients and provide the necessary care.”
