As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Department of Public Health hosted a hearty collection of healthcare providers, educators, caring organizations, and fitness experts at the Micronesia Mall's center court in Dededo.

A health fair saw the community come together to share information, support and resources about the disease, help for those going through a breast cancer journey, as well as their caretakers. A major theme was prevention by living a healthy lifestyle, as well as early detection by getting exams and mammograms.

All month long, Guamanians are wearing pink apparel throughout the island to show our united support for those dealing with breast cancer - including men.

And later this month, KUAM will share our annual Think Pink Day to show our love and stand with those families that breast cancer has touched.
