Public Health launches Village Outreach in Yona, bringing free health and social services to the community

The Department of Public Health and Social Services is bringing care straight to the community, starting with the Village of Yona.
This Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Yona Community Center, residents can access free health and social services as part of DPHSS’s new Village Outreach Initiative.
Families can get their flu shots, learn about diabetes, hypertension, and food safety, or receive assistance with programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and childcare support — all in one convenient place.
Immunizations are available for children six months and older, and for adults 55 and up, just remember to bring your child’s birth certificate, shot record, and a valid photo ID.
DPHSS says this outreach marks the beginning of a broader effort to bring essential care and information into every village, ensuring that every resident, no matter where they live, has access to the support they need to live healthier, stronger lives.
