Arrest made in string of armed robberies across Guam

Police have arrested a 28-year-old Yigo man believed to be behind a string of armed robberies that stretched across multiple villages within 48 hours.
According to GPD, Lucian Maratita George, Jr. was taken into custody after a violent two-day spree that began at the Dededo Shell service station on October 5 — where he allegedly pointed a weapon at a cashier, fired a shot, and fled in a customer’s vehicle.
Investigators say George struck again early October 7, targeting three gas stations — Mobil 1/10a in Tamuning, the Circle K/76 in Tamuning, and the Mobil station on Route 8 in Maite — each time brandishing a firearm and demanding cash before fleeing the scene.
A “Wanted person for public view” flyer led to his capture later that day when officers spotted his vehicle in Dededo. George allegedly tried to flee, striking other vehicles before crashing near Route 1 and Iligop Street in Upper Tumon.
He was taken to the hospital, treated, and later confined at the Hagatna Detention facility. The case has been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for prosecution.
