A detainee at the Department of Corrections is facing felony charges after he was allegedly caught with a cell phone inside his cell.

According to court documents, 38-year-old Eugene Reyes Lane was charged with promoting prison contraband as a second-degree felony.

Police say officers responded to DOC on August 30 around 8:30pm after a corrections officer reported finding lane holding a phone and appearing to play a game on it.

The device was confiscated, and lane was placed in a holding tank. The case has been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office for prosecution.
