Murder Trial for Nicholas Wayne Moore Still Set Despite Evidence Disputes

Jury selection in the murder trial of Nicholas Wayne Moore remains on track for October 13, despite ongoing fights over digital evidence and technical issues. Moore is accused of killing Michael Castro, whose body was found in Yigo in 2020, a year after he disappeared.
In court Wednesday, Judge Maria Cenzon pressed both sides to resolve problems with surveillance video, cell phone data, and the court’s case management system. Defense Attorney William Gavras challenged whether video clones provided are accurate copies of the original files.
Prosecutor Christine Tenorio maintained the original footage was kept intact to prevent tampering—with only working copies shared. The court confirmed up to 45 prosecution witnesses could testify, and evidence like vehicles and weapons will require off-site review.
Judge Cenzon stressed the need to move forward with careful preparation, so the lengthy trial can start without wasting jurors’ time.
