This weekend, the island gathered in solemn reflection and love at the 21st Annual Lifeworks Guam Candlelight Memorial Service.  Held at the St. Anthony Catholic School Gym on Saturday morning, families and friends came together with photos, mementos, and candles — honoring the memory of loved ones lost to suicide.

The service began with a candlelight vigil, filling the space with a glow of remembrance and hope. It was followed by a holy mass presided over by Archbishop Ryan Jimenez, who reminded the community that even in the darkest of times, faith and unity can bring light.

Organizers say the memorial is not only about grieving but also about healing — offering support, comfort, and connection for those left behind.

In the words of many who attended, it was a powerful reminder: no one carries their pain alone, and together, we can choose life, hope, and love.
