Fix in Six: recovery program launches early

The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority is fast-tracking recovery from Typhoon Mawar—launching its Fix in Six program months ahead of schedule. Originally set for January, the initiative is now underway, with public outreach sessions beginning next week at the Guam Museum Theater.
Funded through more than a half-billion dollars in federal disaster recovery aid, Fix in Six is designed to rebuild stronger communities—supporting affordable housing, safer infrastructure, and new opportunities for Guam’s families.
Deputy director Fernando Esteves says after years of hardship, including the pandemic and the storm’s devastation, Fix in Six is a promise to make recovery real—quickly, and equitably.
