A Yigo man is facing charges after police say he and his dog attacked a bicyclist.

According to a magistrate’s complaint, 35-year-old Neri Boy Jr. Meno Tapar was approached by a man on Monday who asked him to put his dog on a leash. Instead, the complaint states, the dog attacked the victim—and Tapar joined in, punching the man several times in the forehead.

Officers documented bruises, cuts, and puncture wounds consistent with an animal attack. Tapar was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault.

He is being held on $2,000 cash bail, and if convicted, could face up to a year behind bars.
