A routine traffic stop in Sinajana turned into a major drug arrest early Wednesday morning.

According to a magistrate’s complaint, 38-year-old Abby Marie Perez Santos was behind the wheel of a vehicle with no current registration tags when police pulled her over near the Sinajana Mobil. Officers noticed suspicious movements inside the car, prompting further checks.

Two passengers, 35-year-old Anthony Mafnas Concepcion, Jr. and 27-year-old Heather Lynn Cepeda Cruz, were both wanted in other open cases. When Santos refused a search, a drug detector dog was brought in and alerted officers to the vehicle.

Police recovered a backpack with cocaine and a meth pipe linked to santos. Concepcion was also caught with a meth pipe and residue, and a bag of meth weighing more than five grams was found under his seat. Cruz was taken into custody on misdemeanor charges tied to an earlier case.

If convicted, Santos faces up to ten years in prison, Concepcion up to five, and Cruz up to two. Santos and Cruz were released on personal recognizance bonds, while Concepcion remains in custody.
