Guam Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that occurred around 11:19 p.m. on Sept. 5 along Route 10 in Mangilao, near the Best Wash & Dry Laundromat.

A male pedestrian, whose identity has not yet been confirmed pending notification of next of kin, was struck while crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene. This marks Guam’s 16th traffic fatality of the year.

The driver fled the scene but was later located in Yona. The vehicle was seized as part of the investigation. The operator was interviewed and released pending further investigation.
